The WELEAD project is a five-year (2022-2025) SRHR project implemented in three IDP camps: Damare, Daware, and Salama Camp in Girei LGA, Adamawa State.

Its target audience includes women aged 10–35, women with disabilities, people living with HIV, and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The WeLead project was funded by HIVOS with support from EVA.

Key Achievements:

• Provided comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) education and awareness sessions.
• Increased knowledge on menstrual hygiene management and reproductive health among beneficiaries.
• Promoted informed decision-making, dignity, and wellbeing for women and girls in displacement settings.
• Strengthened community awareness and engagement on the rights and health needs of displaced women and girls.
• Introduced a safe space and trained them to be SRHR rightholders and advocates
• Trained 12 IDP girls as peer educators, who further sensitized 322 individuals within their communities on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
• Conducted Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law review sessions with lawmakers and key stakeholders, contributing to the state’s progress toward domesticating the VAPP Law as a critical framework for protecting the rights and wellbeing of women and girls.
• Supported educational empowerment and leadership development among displaced girls, resulting in two beneficiaries from the IDP camps graduating from higher institutions one in Reproductive Health and Family Planning, and the other in Business Management.

A total of 2,674 girls and young women were directly reached and empowered with life-changing SRHR knowledge and support across the three IDP camps and 7 million people reached online through radio Program, 155,470 reached through social media engagement and
